• rafaelcasal The last two days were a beautiful affair at @publictheaterny, as the @barsworkshopnyc
community presented it’s latest works: a new BARS medley, and previewed
two excerpts of productions that Bars alumni are creating through our
new Alumni Program. We filmed our medley Wednesday, then knocked out 3
private presentations on the ground floor of the public. It was truly
spectacular, and only topped by the 8 weeks we worked together as a
community of artists to get it to that point. Much love to our brilliant
    bars team @laurenrutlin @samorapinderhughes @oye414 @sofiasnow @cookufur @daveeddiggs,
to our amazing production team at The Public, and to our 3 cohorts of
artists we have cultivated in just a little over a year –
congratulations, I adore you, and I am forever happy to be a part of
your adventures as artists and humans.

As an artist, I’m just constantly trying to find out what that Jerusalem is with everyone I interact with. I just try to find Jerusalem with everyone. In this business – business is wild as fuck, man – yanno, it’s not just about the work, it’s not just about the craft, it’s not just about the art, it’s show business. There’s a lot of other aspects of it that you have to adopt and you have to make peace and find that one commonality between all these somewhat dissident factors in order to make peace with what you do every day and find the joy in it every day.
